Face of an Eagle
The Face of an Eagle in the character of God… Have you ever noticed that everything the world discovers today is already written in the bible? Yes, even personality types! God deals with each of us in a way we understand and is relevant to our situation. We see in the bible that Ezekiel had a vision of God while he was standing on the bank of the river. He sees in the sky, a vision of the throne of God coming in the distance. Around His throne are living creatures which guard and watch everything in the way.
“Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.” Ezekiel 1:10 Niv
Face of an Eagle – Throughout the Bible, the eagle signifies the soaring, transcendent, powerful divine life of God.
In September 2016 Jehovah Rapha visited me! The Almighty-face of an Eagle-God came with healing in His wings. My life that had battled with illness and disease was transformed. I was set onto a path of restoration and transformation.
In October 2016 I was given the following promises:
I trust in the LORD. He is giving me power. The weakness is becoming strength. I am being made powerful. He will fill me with new strength. I’m ready to soar high on wings, just like an eagle. I will walk and not faint. Soon I will run and not grow weary. From Isaiah 40 (verses 29 and 31).
“He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” Psalms 103:5 (NLT).
Desiring to see these promises manifest I embarked on a journey of great inner healing in early February 2017. This has been a challenging journey to say the least. But I had a weekend away, late February, where I laid everything down at God’s feet and it was an amazing time! Just after my ceremony a friend prayed for me and saw 2 amazing things:
My friend said she saw me on God’s back (He was an eagle) and I was riding behind His head. The verse that confirmed this was “I carried you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself.” Exodus 19:4b.
She then said that she saw me standing in front of Almighty-Eagle-God and I was being hugged surrounded by his wings. As Psalm 91:4 promises: “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” (NLT). I was simply in awe of these 2 amazing pictures.
Late March 2017 I was blessed to fly to Melbourne. I had a window seat and as the plane took off I pressed my face to the window. I was seated over the front of the wing and I had that sensation of being on God’s back. I felt so free. My heart soared. What my friend had seen in February manifested itself in March. I started crying tears of joy praising God.
When I have felt overwhelmed I have felt such comfort in bed. As I snuggle under my feather doona I reflect on being held within the wings of God. As the warmth of the doona radiates into my cold body, I ask God to warm me with His great love. I feel safe and I feel protected. The feelings of despair are washed away with His great hope!
I love watching eagles fly and how little effort they put into it. They simply spread their wings and catch the currents.
I am reminded that I need to simply spread my arms out in worship to God and allow His currents of love; restoration; and transformation to flow. He will set my course. He will guide my ‘flight’. If I will only allow Him to. There is no striving required just desire. There is nothing I need to do but worship. So I’ve carved out those moments: I’ve driven to a place of solitude; I’ve stood on my deck and watched the sunrise; I’ve sat at the beach and watched the waves roll in; I’ve gone to church early to dance before the Lord; I’ve knelt in various places; I’ve cried; I’ve sung; I’ve praised; I’ve prayed.
I’m letting it all go to chase after Him. I’ve decided to fall into His faithful arms. I’m going on the ‘flight’ of my life and I’ll never be the same!!!
This fourth face, the face of an eagle, is hidden in the rear. In a sense the eagle’s face is a secret, a mystery to those around us, as we draw our strength from a secret source that only God can provide.
“But those who hope in the Lordwill renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
I pray that today Almighty-Eagle-God will take your spirit into the skies with Him. That your heart will soar with His amazing joy. That your lungs will be filled with His great hope and you too seek the buoyancy and transcendence not of ourselves; but know it is sourced in the hidden divine life within us.
Many blessings!
