Courageous Lion
Courageous Lion
I was having a physically challenging day which meant I was feeling emotionally fragile.
As I played worship music and pressed into God I felt the words were a balm to my hurting and shaky heart.
As I listened to “Warrior”, by Steven Curtis Chapman, I was reminded that I have the Lion of Judah by my side. This description is also used in Revelation 5:5 “…Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory….” NLT
I cried tears of gratitude. I ‘threw my arms’ around the neck of God-the-courageous-lion and cried into his mane. I sung the following words with gratitude flowing through my veins:
“I looked into the eyes of a lion
I felt the courage in his gaze
I heard him roar my name with passion
As I buried my tears in his mane
I’ve seen I AM, now I know that I am loved
I’ve seen I AM, now I know who I am”
‘I’ve Seen I Am’ (part lyrics) written by Jonathan David Helser
I realised how much I needed God’s love, mercy, grace and hope to move me from that place of despair:
“I need You more, more than yesterday
I need You more, more than words can say
I need You more than ever before
I need You Lord I need You Lord
More than the air I breathe
More than the song I sing
More than the next heartbeat
More than anything”
“I Need You More” (part lyrics) written by Bruce Haynes, Lindell Cooley
The words reminded me that:
God can enable me to be strong and courageous (Joshua 10:25)
God IS by my side (Matthew 1:23)
God IS a mighty lion – He walks with a stately stride and He is the King of all (Proverbs 30:29-31)
I can place my hope in God knowing with confidence that Jesus has already declared the victory! Romans 8:37
I don’t need to be strong I just need to allow God to be strong in me!
God the Courageous Lion grants me courage to take the next breath; write the next word; take the next step; sing the next song; dream the dreams He places in my heart…
God granting me courage has enable me to look into the face of fear and declare: ‘I’m no longer afraid’; ‘I AM able to speak out’; I can sing and dance for joy’; ‘I am NO longer a slave to fear’…….
God in lion form: I imagine a HUGE Courageous Lion with eyes of fire and a mane of gold. Courage and strength exude out of His presence! As He roars my name I feel courage seep into every fibre of my being!
May God give you courage to face your battle today.
Many blessings
Keona
